36 players will participate in a single league competition in which all players are ranked together.
Under the new format, players will play eight matches in the new league phase. They will no longer play 3 opponents twice but will instead face matches against 8 other players.
To determine the eight different opponents, the players will initially be ranked in four seeding pots. Each player will be drawn to play two opponents from each of these pots, making up your eight matches.
Qualification to the knockout stages.
The results of each match will decide the overall ranking in the new league, with 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw still applying.
The top EIGHT players in the league will qualify automatically for the round of 16 knockout stage.
The players finishing 9th to 24th will compete in a two legged knock out phase to secure their path to the last 16 of the competition.
The players finishing 25th and below will be eliminated completely.
In the knockout stage the players finishing 9th to 16th will be seeded and they will face a player placed 17th to 24th. The 8 players which prevail in the knockout phase play offs will then progress to the round of 16, where they will face one of the top 8 players who will be seeded in the round of 16
From the round of 16 onwards, the competition will continue to follow its existing format leading to the final where one player will be crowned as champion.
